In Lonely Planet's Top Ten!
The famous guide “Best in Travel 2010” by “Lonely Planet” has suggested ten towns in the world worthy to be visited; among them, the only Italian town is Lecce, the chief town of Salento. The beautiful Apulian city is in the “top ten” list of the most glamorous towns together with Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Charleston (USA), Cork (Ireland), Cuenca (Ecuador), Istanbul (Turkey), Kyoto (Japan), Sarajevo (Bosnia-Erzegovina), Singapore and Vancouver (Canada). You haven't heard the last of this; Lonely Planet has also added the beaches of Salento among the Mediterranean top ten.
Salento is pet friendly!
The Handbook of reception and hospitality of Salento
Ten absolutely original and unique “rules”; ten extraordinary ways of behaviour that only Salento can give you. We are speaking of the famous Handbook of reception and hospitality of Salento.
...ever heard about "Salento Therapy"?
The Salento area offers to its visitors various and absolutely natural therapeutical and curative options. What is beautiful is that such benefits are not artificial actions and situations created by man and set up in whatever laboratory, rather it is nature itself that, through a sensitive perception of colours and sounds, smells and light, produces stimuli and impulses which lead to physical and psychological wellness. This is what the so called "Salento Therapy" is, and there is only one way to discover if it really works...
...and about the famous "Salento Slow Life"?
"Salento Slow Life is not a new acience, on the contrary it is just a banal realization of the lifestyle and way of thinking that has lived in this territory for centuries. If the rest of the world lives a constantly "fast life", made up of running all the time and days full of useless frenzies and negative stress, people in Salento always live their own life following a slower and more reflexive biological clock. It is enough to wake up in early in the morning to notice the slow movements of the early workers, the fishermen, the peasants, the truck farmers and, during the day, to discover a slow world, the breakfast, the human relationships, the movements, the work. This is an advantage to taste a life made of welfare and inner peace.
